Miller, Kenneth G.

Louis Meyer has worked for Jackowiak Law Offices since 2004. Mr. Meyer worked as a law clerk while attending law school at DePaul University, and then as an attorney. During his first week as an attorney with Jackowiak Law Offices, Louis worked on a federal civil rights trial. The day Louis was formally sworn in as an attorney, the jury awarded his client a verdict of $365,000.

Born in Woodstock, Illinois, Mr. Meyer earned his bachelor's degree with Honors at the University of Iowa in 2001. For his honors thesis, Louis authored a psychological study on faulty eye-witness identifications. After graduating from Iowa, Louis worked for two years as a paralegal at a law firm in Woodstock. Mr. Meyer then moved to Chicago to attend law school at DePaul. Soon after starting law school, and based upon the results of his honors thesis, Louis realized that he wanted to practice civil rights, criminal, and personal injury law because of his deep belief in helping people through our justice system. While at law school, Louis continued his learning about complex civil rights issues and injustices in the legal system.

In addition to pursuing his desire to assist people in need, Mr. Meyer is on the road to becoming an accomplished trial attorney. Since joining the firm in 2006, Louis has assisted in nine jury trials in civil cases. One was a federal jury trial in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Louis also assisted with two criminal jury trials where his client was wrongfully accused of serious felonies. In both of those cases his clients were found not guilty and have now brought civil rights cases.

Mr. Meyer is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
