Benjamin Messing focuses his litigation practice on complex insurance coverage matters and insurance fraud. In the past he has handled a broad range of civil litigation matters dealing with business disputes, real estate transactions, corporate disputes, commercial financing transactions, debt collection, employment disputes, personal injury, EFTA claims and environmental claims.
Prior to joining NLdH, Mr. Messing was an attorney at a prominent Chester County law firm, where he maintained a civil litigation practice. Before that, he practiced in New Jersey at a law firm tasked with handling first- and third-party insurance coverage defense, subrogation and insurance fraud prosecutions.
Mr. Messing completed two clerkships. The first was with the Hon. Charles E. Villanueva, J.A.D., who was specially designated to handle all of the complex automobile insurance fraud in the State of New Jersey. The second clerkship was with the Hon. Mark L. Tunnell, who is the 56th judge to sit in Chester County since 1789, and was sworn into office on Jan. 2, 2012. While attending Carnegie Mellon University, Mr. Messing also completed an internship with the Hon. Max Baer, then a Judge sitting in Allegheny County who is now a justice on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
