David J. Meretta has been with the firm since 2000. Mr. Meretta concentrates his practice in the areas of business & franchise law and civil litigation, and also has extensive experience in the areas of appellate practice and criminal law.
Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mr. Meretta received his undergraduate and law school education from the University of Michigan (A.B. with distinction, 1993; J.D., 1996), and was admitted to the state bars of Michigan and Massachusetts in 1996 and 2000, respectively. He was a member of the University of Michigan Marching Band Drumline from 1989 through 1995.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Meretta clerked for the Hon. Lawrence M. Glazer of the 30th Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Meretta also independently assisted the defense in Michigan v. Nathaniel Abraham, a widely publicized case in which an 11-year-old child faced a potential criminal sentence of life in prison without parole.
