Shai Mehani is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and New York and focuses exclusively in the area of Family Law. He handles all issues pertaining to divorce and dissolution, including child custody, parenting time, child support, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, alimony, post-judgment applications, grandparent visitation and pre-nuptial agreements.

Shai also has extensive experience with domestic violence litigation, and has represented numerous victims and defendants in Final Restraining Order hearings in Superior Court. He also volunteers at both the Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project and the New Jersey Battered Women's Legal Shelter as a Volunteer Attorney.

Shai is a 2010 graduate of the Brooklyn Law School, where he was a recipient of the Janet D. Steiger Fellowship and a Gold Public Service Certificate. In addition, Shai was awarded a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Negotiation and co-coached the 2009 Brooklyn Law School Negotiation Team.

Upon graduating from law school, Shai served as the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Stuart A. Minkowitz, Judge of the Superior Court, Morris County, Family Division. Shai gained invaluable experience related to family matters including divorce, custody and child support issues as well as post-judgment litigation.

Prior to joining Moskowitz Law Group, LLC Shai was an associate at Heymann & Flecher where he also focused on Family Law.

Shai is also an active member of the Hudson and Morris County Bar Associations as well as an active participant in the Barry I. Croland, Family Law Inns of Court.
