Doug Meier graduated in the top 4% of his law school class at the University of Denver College of Law in 1989. At graduation he was awarded the Faculty Prize for achieving the highest scholastic average in his division. This prestigious award is only presented to one University of Denver College of Law student each year. He was a member of the Denver University Law Review and received several American Jurisprudence Awards for earning the highest grade point in selected courses. He was the first person in over 20 years to receive a perfect score of 100 in his contracts class.
After graduating from the University of Denver College of Law, he went to work for a federal judge and then one of the largest law firms in the United States. In 1996 he co-founded Meier & Giovanini where he is currently the managing partner. He specializes in insurance bad faith and legal malpractice. He enjoys getting to know his clients and remains friends with many long after their cases are completed.
Doug did his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College in Illinois, graduating in 1980 with High Honors and a B.A. in Biblical Studies. While at Wheaton College he directed a skid row rehabilitation program and a student tutoring program in Chicago.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Doug worked in Bangladesh and Thailand with a relief and development organization and in Somalia with the United Nations. He also worked as an insurance adjuster for the largest insurance company in the United States, which gives him special insight into the insurance claims process.
