Natasha Mehta is an attorney in the Los Angeles office of Baron and Budd. Her practice includes commercial litigation and class action cases.
While completing law school, Ms. Mehta's interest in international law took her to Tokyo where she studied for a semester at Temple University School of Law's Japan campus. Ms. Mehta also completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Maria-Elena James of the Northern District of California division of the United States District Court.
After graduation from law school, Ms. Mehta worked at Bet Tzedek Legal Services, a Los Angeles nonprofit organization providing legal services to low-income clients. As a public interest attorney, she prepared clients for hearings before administrative law judges for the California Labor Commissioner, the Social Security Administration, and the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board. One of Ms. Mehta's most successful cases was obtaining the reversal of an administrative law judge's decision that her client owed the state $20,000 in allegedly overpaid unemployment benefits.
