Prior to attending law school, John McNeer worked in the trust & estates department for Bankers Trust Co. (now Deutsch Bank) in New York City handling high net worth clients from 1993 to 1996. While in law school, Mr. McNeer worked for Coates & Davenport as a law clerk sitting second chair for a successful complex long term care contract lawsuit.
After graduating from law school, Mr. McNeer entered private practice working in general litigation. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. McNeer worked for Williams & Lynch specializing in insurance defense and workers compensation. Representing various insurance companies, Mr. McNeer traveled all over the state often trying several cases a month.
After leaving Williams & Lynch, Mr. McNeer went to work with Marchant, Honey, Blanks & Thurston broadening his practice to include a wider array of cases to business litigation, contract disputes, personal injury, landlord tenant law and domestic relations including divorces and custody disputes. Mr. McNeer also continues to represent both claimants and employers in workers compensations cases.
When the opportunity appeared at Coates & Davenport in 2009, Mr. McNeer returned to the place he had enjoyed working while in law school.
