Robert McLay provides legal representation in commercial litigation throughout California. Robert handles a variety of matters including contract disputes, unfair business practice claims, construction defect and real estate torts. He also has extensive experience in insurance coverage litigation involving both first-party claims, third-party claims, and cases involving SIU matters. Robert has also handled numerous professional negligence claims involving insurance sales agents.

Robert has significant jury trial and bench trial experience in a wide-range of topics. He has successfully tried cases in numerous counties including Alameda, Calaveras, Madera, Placer, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Joaquin, and San Mateo. He also has extensive experience in judicial and non-judicial arbitration.

In addition to his trial practice, he has also argued cases before the Third District Court of Appeal and the Nevada Supreme Court. He has also prepared numerous appellate briefs for cases venued in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, California Courts of Appeal, and the California Supreme Court.

Robert is a licensed real estate broker and provides legal advice to real estate professionals in real estate transaction issues. In his real estate practice, Robert has handled several different types of real estate cases. He has litigated real estate disclosure issues, boundary disputes, easements, and ownership & title disagreements. In Robert's real estate transaction practice, he has assisted clients by drafting purchase and sale contracts and preparing easements & CC&R's. He also provided legal advice to real estate brokers and real estate agents in disclosure and land use issues.

Robert McLay is licensed to practice as an attorney not only in California, but also in the State of Washington and the District of Columbia. He has also been admitted and handled cases pro hac vice in the States of Nevada and Montana. Robert is licensed in all of the Federal Courts of California and is licensed to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
