Jonathan McKernan is a senior associate in the Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, and a member of the Financial Institutions Practice Group and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Working Group. He joined the firm in 2011.
Practice
Mr. McKernan’s practice focuses on advising financial institutions on regulatory and transactional matters. He has represented financial institutions on public and private capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and recapitalization negotiations and enforcement and compliance matters.
Past Experience
Mr. McKernan was previously an associate at Hogan Lovells US LLP. Prior to law school, Mr. McKernan studied in Moscow as a National Security Education Program (NSEP) Boren Fellow and was an analyst at the International Trade Administration.
Professional Activities
Mr. McKernan is a member of the board of directors of The Boren Forum Inc., a nonprofit organization of NSEP Boren scholarship alumni.
