Amber McKeon-Mueller was born and raised in Nebraska. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she graduated with honors and a degree in political science and international studies. She also graduated from the Honors Program and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was a resident assistant for two years and the assistant residence director of Harper Hall her senior year.
Amber graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. During law school, she was vice president of Texas Law Fellowships and participated in the Actual Innocence Clinic and the Domestic Violence Clinic. She sat first chair at a divorce bench trial for the Domestic Violence Clinic, and obtained a judgment for her client in the amount of $240,000 in repayment of a premarital loan. During the summers in law school, she interned at the Texas Attorney General’s Office in the Civil Medicaid Fraud Division and at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
After law school, Amber moved to San Diego to be with her now-husband. She interned at the California Attorney General’s Office in the Correctional Law Section. Shortly after passing the bar, she began working at the Nield Law Group as an associate. She specializes in correctional law and civil rights defense.
