Robert McKeehan is a senior associate in the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, and a member of the Environmental and International Trade, Investment and Market Access Practice Groups. He joined the firm in 2007.
Practice
Mr. McKeehan's international trade practice focuses on international economic regulation and trade policy, including antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings. In addition, Mr. McKeehan has represented and counseled clients in various aspects of export control law, including the Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and anti-boycott provisions.
Mr. McKeehan also counsels clients on a broad range of environmental matters. He has significant experience with both state and federal statutes as well as various international regulatory regimes. He also maintains an active pro bono practice, including recent representation of six Algerian Guantanamo Bay detainees in Boumediene v. Bush, a habeas corpus action in federal court.
During law school, Mr. McKeehan served as Editor-in-Chief of the Emory Law Journal. Prior to joining the firm, he clerked for the Honorable Julia Smith Gibbons of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
