Matt McHale's practice has involved all phases of complex litigation, including discovery, motions practice, trial, and appeal. Substantive areas of experience include antitrust law, audit malpractice, banking, class actions, insurance litigation, and products liability. Matt has helped research and draft petitions for certiorari and amicus briefs for the U.S. Supreme Court, appellate briefs for federal courts of appeal, and summary judgment briefs and motions before state courts.
His clients have included Sherwin-Williams, the paint company now defending lead-related lawsuits in numerous jurisdictions across the country, the University of Notre Dame, and Arctic Glacier, a Canadian ice maker.
During his clerkship with Judge Kermit V. Lipez on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, Matt gained experience in federal jurisdiction and procedure as well as issues related to the First Amendment, admiralty law, immigration law, and criminal law.
