John McHale was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1957. He is a 1979 graduate of St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota and later graduated the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1982. He has been a shareholder of Peters Law Firm, P.C. since 1987. John is a member of the Iowa and Nebraska Bar Associations, the Iowa Association for Justice, is a Fellow of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Council of Litigation Management. He has been the president of Iowa Legal Aid. John is a member of the Finance Council at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
He is a member of the Association of Ski Defense Attorneys. He is the immediate past president of the St. Albert Community Schools Board of Education. He has been president of the Board of Directors of the Southwest Iowa Chapter of the American Red Cross and served for 15 years on the Board of Directors of Iowa Legal Aid and as president for the last 5. He formerly served on the Board of the Nebraska State Men’s Soccer Association and continues to remain active in community projects. He and his wife Sue have 4 children and reside in Council Bluffs.
