STEPHANIE K. MCGUIRE was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri from 1988 to 1992. As an AAG, Ms. McGuire represented a variety of state agencies, including professional licensing boards, the Missouri Department of Agriculture and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in administrative, circuit, appellate and federal courts. Upon leaving government service, Ms. McGuire maintained a general, civil trial, and appellate practice, and now has a white-collar defense practice.
Ms. McGuire conducts internal investigations- in advance of government intervention and in helping companies respond to government inquiries. In addition, Ms. McGuire is well versed in trial work and navigating the complexities of grand jury investigations, both of individuals and businesses. Since joining the firm, Ms. McGuire has represented and defended persons in investigations into FCPA matters, insider trading, Sarbanes-Oxley whistle-blowers, mortgage fraud, SEC investigations, and worked on major cases, including the BP Deepwater Water Horizon Explosion and Oil Spill.
Ms. McGuire received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in 1985 and graduated from the University of Missouri , Kansas City School of Law in 1988. She is licensed to practice law in both Texas (1992) and Missouri (1988). Ms. McGuire is Counsel to the Firm.
