Jillian L. McGuire was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2006 and to the District of Columbia Bar in 2012. She received her J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia in 2006. She received her B.A. in history and Women's Studies, cum laude, from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2003.
Jillian served as the judicial clerk for the Honorable John H. Tisdale in the Circuit Court for Frederick County from 2006-2007. She is a member of the Montgomery and Frederick County Bar Associations, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Montgomery County Women's Bar Association, the Maryland State Women's Bar Association, the National Association of Women Lawyers, and was a former member of the Montgomery County Inns of Court. She was a recipient of the National Association of Women Lawyers Award in 2006, given to an outstanding woman law student. Jillian has been appointed by the Court to represent minor children in custody and visitation matters, having completed the necessary training required in Maryland for such representation. Jillian has formerly served on committees with the Frederick Bar Association and is currently on the Executive Board of the Montgomery County Women's Bar Association.
Jillian has been selected as one of Maryland's SuperLawyers "Rising Stars," a designation awarded to the top 2.5% of young lawyers in the State of Maryland, for the years 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
In addition to her legal work, Jillian volunteers as a youth soccer coach, a girls' lacrosse coach, and for St. Mary's School in Rockville. She also completed the Marine Corps Marathon in 2009 and continues to participate in road races throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
