Ms. McGrath was born in 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Illinois State University with her Bachelor of Science in 1980. In 1991, she received her J.D., cum laude, from Southern Illinois University School of Law. She was a Lead Articles Editor for the Southern Illinois University Law Journal. Ms. McGrath was admitted to the Illinois Bar, the U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, Illinois in 1991. She is the author of Federal Sentencing Law: Prosecutorial Discretion in Determining Departures Based on Defendant's Cooperation Violates Due Process, published in the Southern Illinois University Law Journal, Vol. 15, Winter 1991; and Employment Discrimination: Title VII Protections Under Disparate Impact Analysis Drastically Diminished? also published in the Southern Illinois University Law Journal, Vol. 15, Fall 1990. Ms. McGrath is an active member of the McLean County, Illinois State, and American Bar Associations, as well as the National Employment Lawyer's, Illinois Employment Lawyer's, and American Trial Lawyer's Associations.
