Mike was Assistant District Attorney for Schenectady County from 1985 to 1990. He personally handled that office's appeal in a case where a woman was charged in the deaths of six infants. Mike persuaded the court that the original guilty verdict was correct and the appeal was denied.
Since joining the firm in 1996 Mike has repeated demonstrated the ability to dig deeply into cases to discover more than is initially obvious. In one case, as he prepared for a trial involving a knee injury, he discovered something much more serious in the medical records.
He noticed that several doctors had made notes about the client's apparent memory loss. Mike adjourned the trial and advised the client to seek additional treatment. The client was eventually diagnosed with TBI, Traumatic Brain Injury. The case for this much more serious injury was settled on the third day of trial for an amount far in excess of the value of the original knee injury.
Mike attended the University of Notre Dame where he received his B.A. in 1968. He later attended the University of Albany Law School and received his J.D. in 1982. Mike was admitted to the New York Bar in 1983 and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York in 1984. He joined the firm in 1996.
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Albany County Bar Association, Schenectady Bar Association and Capital District Trial Lawyers Association.
