Scott D. McLeod focuses his practice on trials, litigation and dispute resolution. Scott has successfully assisted clients in complex litigation, wrongful death, product defect, business, real estate, construction, personal injury, aviation, and family law cases. Scott also has defended his clients' rights under the US Constitution and federal statues such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Section 1981 and Section 1983 discrimination and retaliation actions. Scott is a member of ESR's team of trial attorneys experienced in all phases of the dispute resolution process, from pre-litigation investigation and negotiation through the trial and appeals. Scott has first and second chair jury trial experience representing clients in Colorado state and federal courts, in mediation and arbitration, and in administrative and regulatory proceedings such as the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

Scott received his law degree from the University of Denver, College of Law and his undergraduate degree in economics from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Scott is admitted to practice law in all Colorado state courts, the federal United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before joining ESR, Scott was in private practice at the McLeod Law Group and Mallon & Lonnquist, LLC, both in Denver, Colorado. Scott has previously worked as an aviation consultant and as an airline captain and instructor pilot while also serving as an assistant chief pilot for two US airlines as the direct supervisor and manager to more than 800 pilots.

Prior to attending law school, Scott served as a fighter pilot and officer in the United States Marine Corps where he piloted the F/A-18 Hornet accumulating carrier landings aboard the aircraft carriers USS Lincoln (CVN 72) and USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Scott has served as the pilot in command of approximately two dozen different models of aircraft and holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license with multiple type ratings in jet and turbo-prop aircraft.

Scott is active in the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

When not helping clients, Scott enjoys spending time outdoors camping, fishing, mountain-biking, flying, and spending time with his children.
