One summer during college, Larry worked at a Pittsburgh law firm, on the case of a woman being tried for exacting revenge on her brutally abusive husband. The act of collecting evidence, and seeing firsthand the stark reality of the husband’s abuse, was a revelation of sorts for Larry, as he became aware of the great need to defend accused individuals whose motivations are much more complex than our legal system can properly address.
Goodbye pre-med, hello pre-law. Larry graduated from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law and was admitted to the practice of law in the state of Ohio in 1985, and in turn founded Zukerman & Associates in 1993.
Since that time, Larry has fought for the rights of individuals facing allegations of white collar crimes, computer/Internet crimes, sexual assault, Federal narcotics crimes, and many others. Often he handles the cases of high-profile or well-known citizens, which requires the utmost discretion. Balancing aggression with tact according to the needs of the case, Larry makes it a point to know each case better than the judge and prosecutors.
He is an adjunct-professor of law at The Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he has taught for 17 years. In addition, he represents other lawyers and judges who face disciplinary charges. Being entrusted with the professional lives of his peers is perhaps the ultimate compliment within the legal profession.
In consideration of neighbors and friends, Larry only wears Steelers gear inside the house he shares with his family on Cleveland's east side. Whenever possible, Larry attends Cavs games and skis, which is often and not often enough, respectively.
