Bruce McDermott is a member of the Energy and Utilities Practice Group and the Real Estate, Environmental and Energy Department. His practice involves the representation of a broad range of businesses with respect to environmental matters including permitting, regulatory counseling, enforcement defense and transactional advice. In recent years, he has worked extensively on matters related to the environmental and regulatory issues associated with the development and operation of electric generating and transmission facilities.
Mr. McDermott is a member of the Advisory Board of The Greater New Haven Leadership Center which is a program of the New Haven Chamber of Commerce designed to support the growth of aspiring leaders through training and community education. Bruce also serves on Governor Rell's Permitting Task Force that is examining and making recommendations concerning the processes by which permits are issued by state agencies.
Mr. McDermott received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College. He earned a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University where he served as Managing Editor of the Case Western Reserve University Law Review. Mr. McDermott earned an LL.M. degree in environmental law from Pace University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.
