Christopher Zimmerman is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group and the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2003.
Practice
Mr. Zimmerman’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and regulatory and internal corporate investigations. Mr. Zimmerman has significant experience in securities and commercial litigation, including class actions, derivative actions, business disputes and consumer protection matters. He has represented numerous public and private companies in the financial services, health care, high technology, and manufacturing industries, among others.
Mr. Zimmerman is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Recent Highlights
- Represent two high technology companies and their officers and directors in securities class and derivative actions in connection with initial and secondary public offerings.
- Defend global paper and pulp equipment manufacturer in putative consumer class action alleging warranty, product defect, and unfair trade practices claims.
- Responded to SEC options-related accounting inquiries on behalf of chief financial officer of health care company and telecommunications company.
- Conducted internal corporate investigations and responded to criminal and regulatory subpoenas on behalf of major health care corporation.
- Served as special assistant district attorney in Middlesex County, Massachusetts for six months. Mr. Zimmerman argued numerous dispositive motions and tried more than a dozen cases before judges and juries to verdict.
- Won “major legal victory” (Boston Globe, 1/27/06) following six-week trial on behalf of class of mentally impaired children seeking new treatments under the Medicaid Act.

Mr. Zimmerman is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.
