Sam is of counsel and a member of the Directors and Officers Practice Group. He has over ten years' experience in insurance coverage and defense work for various types of professional liability matters. He has handled coverage litigation related to financial products and financial institutions insurance and defended attorney professional liability claims. Prior to acquiring this experience, Sam handled litigation of patent and trademark infringement and licensing claims, along with some real estate and contract matters as part of a general practice.

- Sam has handled the defense of insurer bad faith litigation in New York and New Jersey.
- Sam handled the successful cross appeal of a major financial institution coverage claim resulting in an unusual decision denying coverage for defense cost reimbursement under a non-duty-to-defend insurance policy.
- Sam was coverage counsel for one of the largest professional liability claims in Massachusetts and assisted local counsel in coverage aspects of the resulting bankruptcy court proceeding.
- Sam has advised and guided insurance broker clients in compliance and business practices issues.
