Bill York has been a partner with the firm of Gilman, McLaughlin and Hanrahan since 1980 and has a general practice with an emphasis in litigation, administrative law, representation of start up and existing businesses, zoning and real estate development, domestic relations and sports law.
As part of his practice, Mr. York represents various institutions, businesses and individuals in many aspects of their legal requirements.
Mr. York's litigation practice includes representation of varied clients before the Trial Courts of the Commonwealth as well as the Federal Court and various government agencies and boards.
Mr. York is a member of the Bars of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, First Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. York graduated from Boston College in 1970 and obtained his J.D. from Suffolk University in 1973. Upon graduation, M.r York received a distinguished clerkship with the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts and served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Frank J. Murray. Following his clerkship, Mr.York joined the firm.
Mr. York who is a member of the American, Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations, has been active in both business and civic associations and has served as a trustee, officer, corporator and director of various hospitals, banking educational and charitable organizations. Mr.York is also active in regard to his alma mater, Boston College. Mr. York served as Chair of the Screening Committee to the Executive Staff for Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly.
