Rodney Mason graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1972. He received his law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law in May of 1975 and upon passing the North Carolina Bar Exam he opened his practice in Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina in the Fall of 1975. He has practiced in the Piedmont Triad area ever since. He and his wife Elizabeth raised their two sons in Asheboro until the boys graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Rodney Mason received the Eagle Scout award as a young man and thereafter spent many years as an adult leader and advisor in the Boy Scouts. He is active in his church and in the community as a member of the local Rotary civic club and a supporter of the Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Mason is licensed to practice law by the North Carolina State Bar. He is a former President of the Randolph County Bar Association, a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the North Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
One of Mr. Mason's favorite quotes regarding the practice law comes from Daniel Webster who said "An eminent lawyer cannot be a dishonest man. He cannot be because he is careless and reckless of justice; the law is not in his heart, is not the standard and rule of his conduct." Mr. Mason believes a that first and foremost a lawyer must be honest with his client. After honesty, the most important attribute of a good lawyer is that sense of craftsmanship and pride in one's work that leads him to adhere to the highest standards of professional competence.
