Mavrides, Marcia J.

Teri is a partner in the firm's Environmental and Natural Resources Section. Teri practices in the firm's Mississippi offices and her 32 year practice has included a variety of environmental issues. Over the years, Teri has represented clients in matters related to solid waste facilities, including the permitting and expansions of landfills and brownfields. A substantial amount of Teri's practice includes wetlands permitting and preparation of environmental assessments for large scale developments.  Teri provides assistance to clients in challenges to agency action under the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Natural Resource Damage Claims in the courts, federal and state and administrative tribunals. Her practice also includes Clean Air Act permits and compliance matters and the development and review of corporate environmental compliance programs.

Post-Katrina, Teri represented Mississippi Development Authority in a $4 billion homeowner grant program, working closely with HUD and Council of Environmental Quality, and prepared a program environmental assessment. As an outgrowth of MDA representation, she now represents the Mississippi Gulf Coast Region Utility Authority created to implement $600 million post-Katrina infrastructure projects for six coastal counties. Teri continues to represent numerous post Katrina developers and businesses in the rebuilding efforts on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Teri currently represents the Trustee for the State of Mississippi in its Natural Resource Damage Assessment claim related to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Teri continues to serve on numerous boards, including the Hancock County Development Foundation, the Hancock County Main Street Association, and the Gulf Coast Symphony Board. Teri also served as past president of the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Programs for both Hancock and Harrison Counties. Teri has been listed in both The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA, Americas Leading Lawyers for Business for her environmental law practice in Mississippi.

Teri is married to Jim Wyly and they have three children, Katie, Grady and Connor.
