Marcia heads up the Social Security and disability section of Margolius, Margolius and Associates. She is one of the most popular and successful Social Security attorneys in the country and is consistently chosen to lecture at national conferences and before Congressional committees. Her practice concentrates on Social Security disability, Long Term Disability and Workers Compensation. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1980 and is a 1983 graduate of Case Western University Law School. She joined James Mitchell Brown, LPA in 1982 and became a partner in January 1988. She previously worked for Senator Robert Byrd of the Georgia State Senate and the Cleveland Office of Consumer Affairs.
Marcia was the first female president of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR), and also the youngest president at the time. She advocates both with passion and knowledge of the law, and has a wealth of knowledge concerning health and legal issues. She is recognized for using computer graphics and technology at hearings in order to concisely demonstrate disability events in claimant's lives. Her cases are regularly reported in Social Security journals. She now serves on the board of Past Presidents for NOSSCR and is a Past Chair of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, Social Security section; and a Past Chair of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association, Workers' Compensation and Social Security Section. She continues to organize many educational seminars for these legal associations.
Marcia also currently is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association; the Cuyahoga County Bar Association; the Bar Association of Greater Cleveland; the Ohio Association of Trial Lawyers; the Cleveland Association of Compensation Attorneys; the Federal Bar Association; the American Bar Association; and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives.
Given her experience and compassion, Marcia is a frequent speaker before professional associations and community groups regarding Social Security and Workers' Compensation issues. She has been the Ohio representative to testify before Congressional committees and subcommittees, and is nationally recognized as a leader in Social Security law.
