William A. Wilson was born in Washington D.C. He entered the United States Army after high school in October 1966. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Infantry (Airborne) and was a decorated combat officer, serving two combat tours in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Captain and was honorably discharged in 1972. After his military service, Mr. Wilson returned to pursue his education, entering the University of Texas at Austin in 1973.
Mr. Wilson, a Phi Beta Kappa, graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. He graduated from St. Mary's University Law School in May 1980, and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 1980.
Mr. Wilson started his own firm in December 1982, in San Antonio, Texas. He has built this firm the old fashioned way: one satisfied client at a time.
In addition to engaging in a private law practice, Mr. Wilson became an adjunct Professor of Law at St. Mary's University Law School from 1995 through 2001. In November 1997, Mr. Wilson published a book: "On Your Own; Starting Your Successful Law Practice and Career." Mr. Wilson has given seminars in law schools all over Texas and continues to give seminars on the subject.
