LINDA LEE MALONEY was born in Reno, Nevada, on September 12, 1964. She began her journey in the legal field competing in mock trial competitions at the age of 14 through the Boy Scouts of America, Law Post 200. At the age of 16, she won the United States Mock Trial Championship, bringing the trophy home to Tarrant County. After obtaining her undergraduate degree in pre-law (political science and history) at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, she won a scholarship to attend Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she studied international politics and economics, obtaining her I.C.P.E.S. certification. In 1987, she returned to Fort Worth where she worked for the law firm of Brown, Herman, Scott, Dean & Miles while she attended the University of Texas at Arlington studying for her Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Affairs. She next obtained her certification in paralegal studies at the University of Texas at Arlington, while working for the law firm of Gould, Broude & Nelson as a paralegal and law office manager. Leaving Fort Worth in 1991, she returned to west Texas where she obtained her law degree from Texas Tech University in 1994, graduating toward the top of her class. At Texas Tech she earned, by participating in mock trial, moot court, mediation, and negotiation competitions, an early admission to the prestigious Board of Barristers where she served as committee chairman, and received a number of scholarships and awards. While attending law school, Ms. Maloney continued her legal education by working part time for a local Lubbock law firm, as well as the Tarrant County District Attorney's office, Wallach & Andrews, P.C., and the United States Attorney General's office.
Ms. Maloney practices in the areas of medical malpractice defense including Texas Medical Board claims, product liability defense, mass tort litigation, toxic tort litigation, construction law, general estate planning and probate, family law, corporate law, and general litigation. Her representative experience includes defense of healthcare professionals and entities in medical malpractice actions, construction litigation, mass tort litigation, collection and employment disputes, as well as defense of healthcare professionals and entities, agencies, owners, inventors, engineers, manufacturers, installers, and distributors in product liability, and toxic tort including breast implants, Viagra, Fen/Phen, Norplant, Felbatrol, medical devices, Rezulin, Propulsid, Benzene, asbestos, drilling mud, vinyl chloride, silica, and Tegretol. She has also represented healthcare professionals and one entity in an angel of death case filed as a ? 1983 civil rights action involving numerous parties and the deaths of ten individuals.
Ms. Maloney joined Wallach & Andrews, P.C. as a law clerk in 1993, and Chamblee and Ryan in 2011. Her contributing publications include De Bunk the Junk: Attacking Junk Science (1994), Evidence: Basic Issues and Developing Trends (1995), Evidence: Basic Issues and Developing Trends: Revised (1997), Estate Issues in Survival and Wrongful Death Actions (1998), and Junk Science (2001), and she has spoken at various bar functions and continuing education seminars.
