Jack D. Maistros was a brilliant professional, known nationally for his diligent approach to litigation and high ethical standards. He received his law degree in 1981 from Cleveland Marshall College of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Maistros joined the Climaco law firm in 1982, and he became a principal shareholder just two years later. Although Mr. Maistros provided advice on a wide array of issues, he gained a reputation as the consummate litigator. He possessed a relentless desire to cover all bases when it came to winning a case. That trait earned Mr. Maistros national repute in two high-profile cases - the health effects of tobacco and the need for safer guns. Mr. Maistros was also known as a legal scholar, serving with a select group of attorneys in Greater Cleveland as a member of the Anthony J. Celebrezze Inn of Court, a group that met regularly to discuss ethical concerns and litigation strategies. In addition to possessing a strong work ethic, Mr. Maistros volunteered his time for various civic and charitable causes, including providing free legal services to financially needy Cleveland area residents through the Legal Aid Society.
