Daniel Williams is a counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Litigation/Controversy Departments. He joined the firm in 2008. Mr. Williams’ practice focuses on advising clients with intellectually property matters, obtaining patent protection and intellectual property litigation.
Practice
Mr. Williams provides strategic counseling regarding patent protection, validity, and procurement of intellectual property. With respect to prosecution, Mr. Williams has written patent applications in a wide range of technology areas including: micro-mirror devices, electrochemical cells, mobile communications, networks, and other electrical and mechanical devices.
Mr. Williams has experience with patent litigation in the Federal Courts, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and International Trade Commission (ITC). His recent experience includes being part of a team that represented a semiconductor manufacturer of analog circuitry in a patent infringement case against a competing semiconductor manufacturer in the District of Massachusetts.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Williams was an attorney in the electrical/mechanical group of a firm in Washington, DC. He also worked for IBM, Microelectronics Division, before he attended law school. As an engineer, Mr. Williams supervised production of printed circuit boards and developed processes for increasing manufacturing efficiency.
Professional Activities
Mr. Williams is a member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
