William G. Lyles, III is a 1992 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. In law school, Bill served as a Student Works Editor for the South Carolina Law Review. He was an Order of Wig and Robe Graduate and a Member of the John Belton O'Neall Inn of Court. Following law school, he worked for Nexsen Pruet where he became a partner in 1998. At Nexsen Pruet, he worked in the early 1990s on complex business disputes, including the defense of clients in lender liability actions, securities claims, and consumer class-action cases. He began to concentrate his practice in the area of construction litigation in 1996 where that concentration remains today. Seeking a new challenge, Bill participated as a founding member in the start up of the Charleston, South Carolina firm of Lyles & Lyles, LLC in July 2000. He is admitted to practice and has practiced in all courts in South Carolina; the United States District Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit; and the United States District Court, District of South Carolina. Upon motion, he has practiced before courts in Texas and Alabama. He has appeared in arbitration proceedings in South Carolina and Mississippi. He regularly serves as a mediator for parties in complex construction litigation. He is an member of the South Carolina Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and the Trial and Appellate Advocacy Committee.
