Amos Whitney received his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland, School of Law in May 2009. At the University of Maryland, School of Law, Mr. Whitney served as an articles editor for the Journal of Business & Technology. In addition, Mr. Whitney briefed and argued an appeal before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals as a Rule 16 student attorney. After graduating from law school, Mr. Whitney served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Diane O. Leasure in the Circuit Court for Howard County from August 2009 - September 2010. During his time as a law clerk, Mr. Whitney observed numerous domestic cases, contributed to judicial opinions, and developed a proficiency in Maryland civil procedure. He was admitted to the Maryland bar in December 2009. Mr. Whitney joined Weinberg & Schwartz, L.L.C., as an associate in September 2010. Since joining Weinberg & Schwartz, Mr. Whitney has worked on custody, child support and divorce cases and has met the goals and needs of his clients by use of litigation, mediation and negotiation. Mr. Whitney currently serves as the Membership Chair for the Honorable James MacGill American Inns of Court, and actively participates in the Young Lawyer Section of the Howard County Bar Association.
