Robert T. Lyles, Jr. has focused his practice on construction related representation and litigation since 1990 and has represented principally owners, developers and general contractors. After leaving Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, where he was an equity partner, he became a founding partner with the Charleston, South Carolina, firm of Lyles & Lyles, LLC. Mr. Lyles graduated from the College of Charleston in 1984 and the University of South Carolina, with his J.D., in 1987. He is a South Carolina Bar Certified Mediator and Arbitrator and a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, the Defense Research Institute and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association. He is admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court and is a member of and has practiced before the Fourth and Fifth United States Circuit Courts of Appeal and all South Carolina State and Federal courts. He has presented numerous seminars on construction and insurance related topics, including annually presenting What To Do When Construction Projects Go Bad in South Carolina and Construction Defect Claims in South Carolina to members of the South Carolina Bar and professionals in the development, design and construction industries. He is also a sitting member on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Trident Home Builders Association of South Carolina.
