Rick White focuses his practice on structured finance and servicing matters relating to commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities. He represents servicers and special servicers in all aspects of CMBS servicing, with particular emphasis on pre- and post-securitization servicing and asset management issues including loan modifications and restructurings as well as the purchase, sale, and transfer of servicing rights.
In addition, Rick represents hedge funds, banks, and other entities in the acquisition and disposition of commercial and residential mortgage loans. He has significant experience in the acquisition of pools of performing and nonperforming residential and commercial mortgage loans from almost every major Wall Street-based holder of mortgage loans.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2010, Rick represented a construction servicer in a $570 million securitization, which was the first deal to provide liquidity to the homebuilding industry through the CMBS market; a loan servicer in negotiation and administration of a REO management agreement for a national CMBS commercial lender; a defeasance consultant/successor borrower in defeasances of millions of dollars of securitized mortgage loans; and special servicers in numerous transactions in CMBS transactions.
