Mr. Lykins is an Associate in the Immigration Group. In his practice, he has handled various types of immigration cases and matters such as Removal Defense, Immigration Bond Hearings; Negotiations with Federal ICE Officers; Naturalization; Consular Processing; Waivers of Inadmissibility; Adjustment of Status; Family-Based Immigration; and Asylum.
Mr. Lykins received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University majoring in Communications and Public Relations. He was a journalist for the Daily Universe and was awarded Best of Web Desk. Mr. Lykins graduated cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law—Bloomington, where he achieved Dean's Honors, served as Executive Articles Editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies, and was also an Octo-Finalist in the Moot Court competition. He was also President of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and served as the Vice Chair for the Society's national organization. He has since served as a Judge for the Moot Court Competition.
Before joining Lewis & Kappes in 2011, Mr. Lykins was an associate at Moshe & Stimson LLP, where he specialized in Removal Defense, as well as other types of family-based immigration cases.
Before practicing law, Mr. Lykins was responsible for media relations, communications, and speech writing for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. From 2000-2002, he was a volunteer full-time proselytizing representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Costa Rica.
Mr. Lykins has also served as a licensed Indiana Domestic Relations and Family Mediator. He has mediated cases involving custody issues, dissolution, paternity, and other domestic issues. He is fluent in Spanish.
