John Lyndon received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia, in 1973. In 1976, he received his JD degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia, and was admitted to practice in June of that year. He has maintained a private practice in Athens since 1976, initially in general litigation but in the last ten years primarily in the areas of divorce and family law.
He is a member of the Western Circuit Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia (Family Law Section), American Bar Association (Family Law Section), American Association for Justice (Family Law Section), and Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
In June, 1999, he was certified as a Family Law Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy after passage of a written examination and a rigorous screening process examining his trial experience, judicial and peer references, and professional disciplinary record.
He has had a number of cases reported at the appellate court level in Georgia, including Ragland v. Ragland, 469 S.E.2d 658 (1996); Waggaman v. Franklin Life Ins. Co. 458 S.E.2d 826 (1995); and White v. White, 319 S.E.2d 447 (1984).
