John Ly represents clients in complex construction, securities, and commercial litigation in federal and state courts as well as in alternative dispute resolution. John's experience covers a broad range of areas that include business torts, contractual disputes, construction delay issues, and securities fraud claims. He also has extensive experience in assisting clients in mediations and arbitrations.
John recently defended Lehman Brothers and various individual brokers in more than six securities fraud cases in numerous forums, including federal court and before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He also worked on two multimillion dollar construction disputes involving delays in construction projects that were successfully settled in mediations. He has substantial experience drafting motions, working with expert witnesses and consultants, negotiating with opposing parties, and preparing cases for favorable resolutions. In addition to securities and construction matters, John worked on a complex 59-count criminal racketeering case.
John also devotes a significant amount of time to pro bono activities and has experience securing restraining orders and dealing with child custody issues for victims of domestic violence.
John is a member of the Southern Chinese Lawyers Association, the Vietnamese Bar Association of California, the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
