Amy E. Gibson Lum concentrates her practice on securities litigation. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Ms. Lum was a Senior Attorney in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Chicago. She has extensive experience conducting investigations and litigating violations of the federal securities laws, including cases involving complex financial fraud, accounting fraud, non-compliance by self-regulatory organizations, insider trading, fraudulent disclosures, reporting violations and violations of investment adviser and investment company regulations.
Ms. Lum recently filed an injunctive action in federal district court and served as lead attorney in a complex securities fraud case involving accounting fraud, reporting violations and false and misleading disclosures, among other violations. In another recent action, Ms. Lum negotiated a significant settlement with a self-regulatory organization that involved substantial, precedent-setting undertakings and resulted in the restructuring of the organization's surveillance and enforcement practices.
Ms. Lum obtained her B.A. from Michigan State University in 1993 and her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1996. She is a member of the Bar of the State of Illinois and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
