Kathleen Kentish Lucero was admitted to the practice of law in September 1983. Since that time she has focused her practice on representing a wide variety of clients who have experienced personal and business setbacks as a result of discrimination, personal injury, family breakdowns and business dilemmas. She has taught business law, worked as a city attorney, state assistant attorney general, represented a local "911" organization in its struggle to provide effective support to injured local citizens and provided legal services as a sole practitioner.
Throughout her practice she has devoted her energies and expertise to representing individuals who have been disenfranchised, suffered physical and emotional abuse and sought to prevent business and financial loss.
Ms. Lucero's strength lies in a combination of her analytical ability, compassion, responsiveness, litigation experience and fearlessness in the face of what has often seemed overwhelming odds. She has represented nonprofit substance abuse organizations, rape crisis centers and health/community based entities. In addition, Ms. Lucero has litigated against state and local governmental bodies on behalf of citizens who have suffered race, ethnic and gender based discrimination. Kathleen Kentish Lucero has litigated real estate disputes, divorce and custody matters as well as highly contested probate matters. A large percentage of her practice has been devoted to fighting insurance companies to provide just and fair settlements for her clients who have suffered injuries in automobile, truck, slip and fall, products liability and wrongful death cases.
At the same time that Kathleen Kentish Lucero has built a practice based upon litigating cases, her greatest strength lies in her ability to listen to her client's problems in order to proactively help them formulate plans to resolve those problems without necessitating the expense and emotional trauma of going to court.
