Daniel is a general practitioner with a special interest in bankruptcy and family law. He graduated from Washburn Law School and was subsequently admitted to practice law in Colorado. Daniel is an active member in the J Reuben Clark Law Society and while in law school served as chapter president. At Washburn Law, Daniel also served as a student editor for the American Bar Association's Family Law Quarterly. During law school, he had internships at The Washburn Law Clinic and Legal Aid of Salt Lake. Daniel argued a key case involving step-parent adoption before the Colorado Supreme Court in 2010. The higher court ruled in his favor with their decision issued in 2011.
A father of four, Daniel is very active in both his family and church life. Daniel has been appointed to several teaching positions in his church and has also served as the Webelos leader for his churches' Scout Pack.
Daniel served a two year mission for his church in Brazil, where he learned to speak Portuguese. After returning from Brazil, Daniel studied Spanish at Utah State University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Spanish with a minor in Portuguese. Daniel has a passion for languages and loves to speak either Spanish or Portuguese any chance he gets. He also has plans to learn French some day.
