Matthew S. Welch grew up in the Daytona Beach area and attended local Seabreeze Senior High School. Following his 1990 graduation, Mr. Welch enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his enlistment, he was stationed primarily in California and was deployed to the Persian Gulf and Somalia and played an active role in Operations Desert Shield and Restore Hope (Somalia). Having Proudly served his country, Mr. Welch was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps to pursue higher education. While maintaining a nearly perfect GPA at the University of Central Florida, Mr. Welch was in the Marine Corps Reserve and worked full time, managing high-volume restaurants. Mr. Welch was the recipient of the Phi Alpha Delta Scholarship and the Department of Criminal Justice/Legal Studies Certificate of Achievement. In addition, he volunteered with the Toys for Tots program and the Coalition for the Homeless. Immediately following his 1998 graduation from the University of Central Florida, Mr. Welch embarked on his legal education at the University of Florida. In the spring of 2001, Mr. Welch was the recipient of a book award for a clinic, representing the highest grade in the class. Mr. Welch received his Juris Doctor Degree in December 2001 and returned to his hometown to launch his legal career. Mr. Welch handles all types of legal matters, particularly in the areas of construction law, employment law, civil and commercial litigation and all aspects of real estate law.
