A practicing attorney for 14 years, Jonathan D. Weiss is currently part of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin's Health Care Liability Practice Group. However, his practice includes medical and dental malpractice, construction litigation, architectural/engineering and other professional liability, premise, motor vehicle and products liability, as well as commercial litigation.
Jonathan has represented doctors, dentists, nurses, engineers, contractors, property owners, property management companies, and other professional organizations. He regularly handles catastrophic injury cases, including cases with multi-million dollar personal injury claims, as well as cases involving multi-million dollar architectural/engineering and construction defect claims.
Jonathan has been involved in numerous multi-party mediations and has handled class action law suits. He has successfully litigated numerous cases, including those leading to a favorable opinion from the Third Circuit Court of Appeals on Section 1983, a favorable District Court opinion on an issue of first impression involving federal trucking regulations, and various state court opinions on medical and commercial matters. He has coordinated the use of multiple experts to address liability, causations, and damages, in high-profile cases.
Jonathan is a member of the Philadelphia Defense Counsel and the Philadelphia Bar Associations. He has recently completed serving a four-year term as a Supervisor of Whitemarsh Township.
Prior to joining Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in the Fall of 1996, Jonathan interned with Community Legal Services and the Environmental Protection Agency and acquired experience in civil litigation. Jonathan also interned as a summer clerk for the Honorable Stanley S. Brotman of the United States District Court.
Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California-Santa Cruz in 1989, a Master's Degree in English from Old Dominion University in 1992, and his Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law in 1996. While at law school, Jonathan was on the editorial staff of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal and was a finalist in the 1995 Samuel J. Polsky Moot Court Competition.
