Jana Logan is a real estate and creditors' rights litigator who focuses her practice in the representation of banks, mortgage companies, lenders, creditors, receivers and trustees in complex bankruptcy, foreclosure and lender liability litigation in state and federal court. She also practices in the area of landlord-tenant liability.
Ms. Logan received a juris doctor degree from Western State University - San Diego, cum laude in 1993, where she was editor of the law review journal, published author and recipient of numerous American Jurisprudence Awards.
Ms. Logan is admitted to practice before all of the courts in California; the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California; the U.S. District Court of Arizona; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
She is a current member of the American Bankruptcy Institute; Mortgage Bankers Association; Federal Bar Association; San Diego County Bar Association - Bankruptcy and Real Property Sections; State Bar of California - Real Property Section; Member of the San Diego County Bar Association's Legal Ethics Committee (2006-present); Director, California Bankruptcy Forum (2008-2010); Welsh Inns of Court; Member International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) (2007-present); Former Director and head of Special Events for Commercial Real Estate Women - (CREW) -San Diego (2003-2005); Former Director, Women's Insolvency Network - San Diego (Past President 2004 and 2005); Former President and Director, California Bankruptcy Forum - San Diego Chapter (2006); and Former Director, Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Association. She is a past director of the California Trustee's Association (now United Trustee's Association "UTA") and past member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees (NACTT), National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and the California Mortgage Bankers Association (CMBA).
Her professional activities have included teaching for Becker Convisor School of Management's CPA review course - law section. Ms. Logan has authored legal articles for real estate related publications and has been a speaker on matters relating to creditors' rights, bankruptcy, and loan servicing. She is a former licensed real estate broker and real estate agent. She was a loan servicing manger for a hard money lender and operated a foreclosure company before becoming an attorney. She began her career as a banker.
In her spare time she likes to skydive, rollerblade and camp. She also volunteers at the Old Globe regional theater in San Diego, California.
