Christine Mathews Long graduated magna cum laude from the University of Dayton in 1974. She was awarded the Alpha Sigma Tau Honor Key. Ms. Long attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and graduated cum laude in 1977.
Ms. Long was admitted to practice before the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1977 and the State of Ohio in 1978. She is currently a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, and is a member of the Family Law Section, Tax Section and Real Property Probate and Trust Law Sections of the ACBA. Attorney Long is a past member of the Family Law Section Council of the Allegheny County Bar Association; a member of the Section's Ad Hoc Guidelines Committee, and a member of the Elder Law Committee.
Ms. Long is a Board Member of the St. Thomas More Society and a former President of Allegheny County's St. Thomas More Society, a Society of Catholic lawyers. Ms. Long frequently volunteers for Neighborhood Legal Services Association handling Protection from Abuse cases, the Family Law Section Pro Se Assistance Program and North Hills Community Outreach.
Ms. Long was admitted to the U.S. Tax Court in 1987 and has done Income Tax compliance work, the representation of clients at IRS Audits and Appeals to the United States Tax Court. She attended the University of Miami Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning in 2010. Ms. Long is an Approved Attorney for First American Title and was an agent for the former Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation for 30 years.
