Lombard, David N.

David Y. Liu was born in Ashland, Kentucky where his father was in the energy industry at Ashland Oil. His family moved to Houston in 1989 and David has been a proud Houstonian ever since.  After graduating from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, David attended South Texas College of Law where he earned his J.D.  While in law school, David clerked for the Honorable Alexandra Smoots-Hogan of the 164th Civil District Court of Harris County and interned with the United States Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review.

David was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2011 and the United States District Court of the Southern District and Eastern District in 2012.  Prior to joining J.R. Mueller, PLLC, David was an associate at a boutique litigation firm where he maintained a diverse docket including civil litigation and commercial disputes.

In addition to litigation, David advises startup companies in various aspects of business development.  This includes, selecting a business structure, evaluating a business plan, structuring a securities offering through private placement, and complying with state and federal securities regulations.  David also counsels business entities in all aspects of daily operations, which includes contractual and employment matters, real estate agreements, and any other litigation issues that may arise.
