David S. Lipschultz sues police officers and municipalities on behalf of individuals who have been victims of false arrest, excessive force and malicious prosecution.
David became a lawyer because he believes that everybody has the right to obtain justice when they have been wronged by others. David has focused his career on representing individuals and families who have suffered injuries caused by police officers and municipalities who are cloaked with the authority of law. He fights for the underdogs. David has established a strong reputation for turning the tables of authority and empowering his clients over the same police officers and municipalities that victimized them originally.
At Goldberg Weisman Cairo, David brings his deep passion and extensive litigation skills to fight for individuals who are victims of police misconduct. Leveraging the firm’s enormous success, experience, expertise and resources, David sues police officers who have violated his clients' constitutional rights through egregious acts of false arrest, excessive force and malicious prosecution.
David has a reputation as an attorney who never gives up. In a 2012 case, David pierced the Chicago Police Department’s code of silence to identify an intoxicated police officer who viciously beat his client and a second police officer who covered up that crime. While the Chicago Police Department did nothing to identify the officers who abused their power, David investigated and litigated for two years to obtain a rich settlement for his client. In 2010, David’s tenacious efforts contributed to the end of the career of a Police Officer who falsely arrested more than a dozen of his clients by falsely claiming they were driving while intoxicated. Many of these clients’ lives were destroyed for years due to the financial hardship of defending baseless criminal charges and their inability to work without a driver's license. Ultimately, David and his colleagues proved their clients' innocence and substantial compensation was awarded.
David was born and raised in the City of Chicago. He obtained his law degree from DePaul University College of Law, and was licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois in 2002. David is a respected member of the trial bar of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Illinois. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court of the Central District of Illinois. David has also litigated police misconduct cases in the U.S. District Courts of North Carolina and New Jersey.
