Lisenby, Blake Edwin

Clayton L. Lindsey, a partner in the firm's litigation group, concentrates his practice in commercial and personal injury litigation. He practices mainly out of WilliamsMcCarthy's Oregon, Illinois, office where he heads that offices's litigation practice. He also maintains an office in the firm's Rockford office. He is licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Mr. Lindsey graduated in 1981 from Illinois State University with honors and in May 1984, he graduated with distinction from The John Marshall Law School. He was a partner in the Rockford office of a large Chicago firm before joining WilliamsMcCarthy in May of 1994.

Clay has over twenty years experience representing a variety of clients in the defense and prosecution of common law litigation in state and federal courts in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. His experience in handling personal injury actions includes trials involving products liability, Structural Work Act, automobile accidents, trucking accidents involving interstate commerce regulations, premises liability, and wrongful death. He also has experience in litigating insurance coverage issues and family law matters.

In the area of commercial litigation, his experience includes the trials of trade secrets, restrictive covenants, contract disputes, business defamation, and a wide variety of employment issues, including discrimination, retaliatory discharge, ERISA and ADA matters. He has handled cases before the Department of Labor, EEOC, and the Illinois Human Rights Commission. Clay also represents a variety of taxing districts and a significant portion of his practice is related to municipal representation.

He is a member of the Trial Bar of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. He is a member of the Trial Section of the Winnebago County Bar Association, Ogle County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Lindsey is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Byron Area Chamber of Commerce. His personal and professional accomplishments have gained him recognition in the publication of International Who's Who and is recognized as one of Illinois' Leading Lawyers.

Since joining WilliamsMcCarthy, Clay has taken an active role in firm management. He is a member of the firm's Board of Directors and has also served on the firm's Long-Term Strategic Planning, Compensation, Marketing, and Associate Committees.
