Wm. Byrd Warlick ("Byrd") was born in Cartersville, Georgia in 1941 and is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of Georgia Law School in 1965. He worked primarily in insurance defense litigation for the first ten years. Thereafter, he spent 10 years specializing in mergers and acquisitions for First Railroad & Banking Company, a multi-bank holding company. During this period, he maintained an active securities law practice including significant commercial law litigation. He has been active in commercial zoning matters, having represented two major kaolin producers. He has served as general counsel to three different banks and/or banking holding companies. He has been involved with commercial real estate development including bond financing. He has served on numerous charitable and civic boards and is the past President of the Augusta Bar Association.
