Teneshia Lewis is a senior staff attorney in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department. She joined the firm in 2006.
Practice
Ms. Lewis focuses her practice on issues of e-discovery. Specifically, she works with other attorneys, litigation technology project managers, and paralegals on teams that manage electronic and other documents in large cases and investigations. Attorneys on these teams take a leadership role in the document control process, systematically tracking documents from preservation to collection and through review and production. They work with e-discovery vendors and their review and analytical tools; review documents; train and oversee other firm and contract attorneys who review documents; and partner with project managers to perform production quality control.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Lewis was a contract attorney for Update Legal, Inc., a Boston-based employment agency. She also worked with Greater Boston Legal Services in its employment unit, representing clients in various employment matters, including violations of wage and hour laws and denial of unemployment benefits. Previously, Ms. Lewis was an associate with Lang, Xifaras and Bullard of New Bedford, Massachusetts, where she acted as assistant counsel for clients in cases involving gender and disability discrimination, and denial of Social Security benefits.
Ms. Lewis has an active pro bono practice through the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association, and has served as counsel for a low-income tenant in a case against her landlord and property management company regarding substandard housing conditions.
Community Involvement
Ms. Lewis currently tutors young adults studying to receive their GED certifications. She also serves as a volunteer teacher for the Citizen Schools Legal Apprenticeship Program, which is designed to prepare inner-city sixth grade students for roles as attorneys in a mock trial. Ms. Lewis recently began working with high school students as part of the Cathedral High School Academic Enrichment Program sponsored by WilmerHale. She also has volunteered as an assistant school administrator at the Dr. William H. Ohrenberger School in Boston, and has worked with the youth program at the Salvation Army Boston South End Corps.
