Brent Warner concentrates his practice in the areas of business, contract and commercial litigation. He has significant experience with representing automotive suppliers, lending institutions, brokerage firms and retail stores in state, federal and commercial arbitration forums. Mr. Warner has also participated with Detroit Legal Aid and Community Legal Resources handling numerous litigation matters pro bono. Prior to becoming an associate at Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco, he was a litigation associate at Butzel Long.
Recent Experience Includes:
- Obtaining injunctive relief on behalf of a major Tier I automotive supplier and successfully defending against a subsequent appeal
- On behalf of a major bank, won summary disposition and an award of $2M in damages plus attorney fees in a case involving a breach of a commercial loan and guaranty agreement
- On behalf of a partnership, won summary disposition and an award of $80,000 in damages plus attorney fees stemming from a breach of a partnership agreement
- Member of a team that won an award of over $6M on behalf of an aerospace manufacturer in an arbitration involving a breach of contract claim
- On behalf of a lending institution won summary disposition and successfully defended against a claim arising under the Retail Installment Sales Act and seeking over $100,000 in damages
- Successfully defended an investment broker and associated brokerage firm against claims of negligence and unsuitability
- Successfully pursued a major lending institution’s indemnification rights under the Uniform Commercial Code with respect to a fraudulent endorsement including an award of attorney fees.
Mr. Warner has also assisted numerous automotive suppliers with negotiating their supply contracts with both their suppliers and customers.
